Jake is an independent American filmmaker.

He produced a concert documentary about the annual Electric Daisy Carnival, the largest electronic music festival in North America. The film, Electric Daisy Carnival Experience, premiered nationwide as a part of NCM Fathom Events and is currently available on Netflix and iTunes.

Jake directed and produced the feature romantic comedy film Dear Sidewalk starring Joe Mazzello and Michelle Forbes which premiered at the Austin Film Festival and is currently available on Amazon, Vimeo, and two dozen other platforms in over 60 countries.
​
Jake raised over $26,000 on Kickstarter to start production on his documentary feature film, Learning To See - The World Of Insects. The documentary film tells the story of his father Robert Oelman who has spent the last 10 years of his life scouring the rain forests of the Amazon, photographing and discovering rare insect species. The film premiered at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival. It played over 20 festivals picking up five awards and two additional nominations for Best Feature Documentary in the process. It’s distributed world wide by Film Rise.

Over the last two decades Oelman has edited spots for the likes of Sony, AARP, Monster, Fender, Lucky, Keller Williams, and more. His work can be seen on Netflix, MTV, OLN, History Channel, Fox Sports, FUEL TV, as well as on most streaming platforms.
Jake lives in Mammoth Lakes, CA and is currently developing new feature film properties as well as working on branded content as a director and editor.
